Nouveau Chamber Ballet “Carrying On” @ Brea Curtis Theatre @ 7:30 PM
Nouveau Chamber Ballet will present its first indoor concert since the start of the COVID
pandemic on Friday, June 3, 2022 at the Brea Curtis Theatre, 1 Civc Center Plaza, Brea at 7:30
pm. The evening of dance is titled “Carrying On”, a reference to not only the COVID pandemic
but continuing the legacy of its founder, Lois Ellyn, who passed away in August of 2021.
Artistic Director, Sheree King, has put together a program of classical, contemporary and world
dance. Included are ten classical variations from some of the most renowned ballets as well as
contemporary dances in a variety of styles by choreographers Scott Anderson, Jana Watkins,
Lois Ellyn, Theresa Dietrich and King. Armenian dance choreographer, Tom Bozigian,
contributes a women’s Armenian dance titled “Tsaghkadz Baleri” or “The Cherry Blossoms.”
Armenian women’s dance has a lot in common with classical ballet and the dancers of
Nouveau Chamber Ballet have excelled in mastering this new choreography.
