Friends of the Fullerton Public Library Book Sale Raises over $10K in sales

At its February two-day book sale, the Friends raised over $10,000.  All proceeds from the sale are donated to Fullerton Public Library.

The sale was held on Friday the 9th and Saturday the 10th. Attendance was impressive — over 1,000 people.  The ever-popular $ 2-a-bag sale, which always occurs in the last hour of the second day, drew 197 extra customers.

The Friends hold three 2-day book sales per year, and they are wildly popular with the community, so be sure to look out for them. Also, the next time you visit the library, check out the Friends Used Book Store, which is adjacent to the Local History Room on the main floor.  Membership in the Friends includes a 10% discount for all store purchases.

In 1961, the Friends started raising funds for the Fullerton Public Library through book sales.  Over the years, new sources of funds have been added: the library bookstore, online sales, membership dues, and monthly silent auctions in glass cases outside the Library Cafe.
