Fullerton Police Officers responded to the area of N. Gilbert St. and Castlewood Dr. regarding a traffic collision involving an overturned vehicle on March 14 at approximately 1:08 AM.
Upon arrival, Officers located a dark-colored Toyota Corolla that collided with a tree on the east side of Gilbert St, south of Castlewood Dr. The vehicle appeared to have been traveling southbound on Gilbert St. before it crossed the center median and collided with the tree. Fullerton Police Officers discovered a 23-year-old male driver unconscious inside the vehicle. The Fullerton Fire Department arrived on the scene and extricated the driver from the vehicle. Sadly, the driver was pronounced deceased. The Orange County Coroner’s Office will release the driver’s identity at a later date.
At this time, Accident Investigators do not suspect any other vehicles were involved, and it is unknown whether drugs or alcohol played a factor in the cause of the collision.
