Kira’s school, Arborland Montessori Children’s Academy, is an infant-8th grade private school known for strong extracurricular activities, including performing arts and public speaking. Two years ago, Arborland piloted a movie production model acquiring the rights to exclusively dub the English version of “The Old Man & Two Mountains,” an animated film based on an ancient Chinese legend. At the time, Kira was too young to audition to lend her voice to the movie. Additionally, due to COVID-19, Arborland’s Theater/Voice Acting classes were being held online instead of in-person, so it wasn’t in Kira’s cards at the time.

Then, the opportunity became available this school year, and Kira immediately enrolled in Arborland’s in-person Theater/Acting workshop! She and her classmates honed their skills through the class, rehearsed each line, practiced emoting, and prepared for the audition process. Nervously, Kira auditioned against 15 other students for the lead role. Ultimately, she landed the lead role of Xia An’an, the brave protagonist at the heart of the animated movie, “Flower Angel.”

Through her voice-dubbed portrayal of Xia An’an, Kira invites us all to believe in the power of dreams and the magic that resides within each of us.
