Fullerton City Council will consider whether to approve or not approve Fullerton Police Department policy and use of military equipment, including various rifles, armored vehicles, grenades, and more, on Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at 5:30 pm at City Hall located at 303 W. Commonwealth, Fullerton.
Item 4 on the Consent Calendar, “Fullerton Police Department Policy 708 – Military Equipment Use,” will pass along with other items on the Consent Calendar in one approval vote unless pulled by a council member or public member for more discussion or dissent. Residents who would like more discussion on the issue may ask for the item to be pulled during Public Comments at the beginning of the meeting.

Thanks for this. Helpful information. My two cents: This is police state stuff. Will anyone be surprised if, next time this goes to the City Council, the drones are armed?
So why just say “grenades”, which is horribly misleading, instead of “CS (tear gas) grenades”, which is what they want to acquire?
The FPD has proven it is capable of murdering with less lethal force (especially fists and legs). It has no need for military weapons.
The line has to be drawn SOMEWHERE…I don’t think we need a tank-treaded vehicle!
Extremely disappointed that City Council voted this through – and tried to do it on the consent agenda no less…
