Exposing Corruption and Systematic Crimes Against Homeless People at Placentia City Council Meeting

Prison is Not Designed to Solve Homelessness

Far from being junkies and mentally ill “transients,” the media loves to portray homeless people as they are finally and collectively taking power into their own hands to flip the script at the city hall meeting!

Residents of the homeless shelter PATH (People Assisting the Homeless) and homeless people on the street will take the floor during the Placentia city council meeting to wake people up about the abuse, neglect, police harassment and brutality, and long list of crimes, such as grand theft, petnapping, and city-wide corruption, that have been committed against the people, this Tuesday, 4/15/24, at 7 pm. The head of the shelters has alleged that he has “the police in his back pocket,” an example of the corruption that has yet to be exposed.

The people will demand reforms, for the criminals to be tried by all relevant authorities, and for the people of Placentia to stand against the mistreatment and criminalization of poverty and homelessness.

Where: 401 E Chapman Avenue, Placentia, CA, 92870
When: Tuesday, April 16, 2024, at 7 pm

  1. Dear “The people”,
Get sober. Get a job. Build or rent your own home. Stop demanding other people take care of you. Nobody owes you anything!

  2. Your response is overly simplistic. The majority of unhoused people have mental and physical disabilities and/or are elderly, factors preventing them from getting a job, getting so-called “sober,” etc. People in these categories are marginalized. They (we) are demonized and criminalized by society simply for being poor, disabled and old!
I hope these demonstrators kick ass at the Placentia City Council meeting!!!

  3. As a formerly homeless individual. There are plenty of resources for those that chose to utilize them. Most of the ones who don’t , choose drugs and alcohol over safety and security. Stop blaming everyone else for your problems. The productive members of society don’t owe you anything, as a matter of fact you owe us for the taxes we pay that provide infrastructure and resources for you. If you think all cops are “pigs” then please don’t call them when you are a victim of a crime. For the Observer, please stop the lies and inflammatory BS.

    • According to the National Alliance to End Homelessness, “The cost of homelessness can be quite high. Hospitalization, medical treatment, incarceration, police intervention, and emergency shelter expenses can add up quickly, making homelessness surprisingly expensive for municipalities and taxpayers.”

  4. The fastest growing of homeless populations in California is people age 50 and up. The older people. Seniors.

Who wants to hire them? See Calmatters story: https://calmatters.org/health/2023/02/california-homeless-seniors/

Now, who wants to say all those older people aged 50+ are fentanyl addicts? All of them. If 100% of all homeless people over age 50 are addicts, then please take them to a minimum security prison. At least there they’d be out of the rain and be able to shower and eat daily.
