• Celebrations broke out on the safe rescue of 4 Israeli hostages held by Hamas (all in good condition) in a raid of the Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza. The raid also killed over 274 Palestinians and injured 700 more. Hamas reported three other hostages were killed in the raid. The Israeli Defence Forces confirmed the deaths of four hostages last Monday.
•Before and after the raid, thousands of demonstrators flooded streets in Israel, protesting the Israeli government under Netanyahu. Protestors call for new leadership, a ceasefire peace deal, and the release of the 120 remaining hostages (43 believed to be dead). One hundred five hostages were released in Nov. 2023 in exchange for a week-long ceasefire and the release of 240 Palestinians held in Israeli jails.
• Thousands protested in Washington, creating a redline around the Whitehouse in support of the Palestinian people in Gaza and shaming the Biden Administration and Congress, which continues to send military funding to Israel. Over 40,000 Palestinians were killed, over 77,000 injured, and 80% of buildings and Infrastructure destroyed since October 7, 2023.
