Janet Pickering, a beloved member of the Fullerton community, passed away peacefully at age 88 on May 23, 2024, in Fullerton, CA, where she resided at Morningside of Fullerton. Her family held a graveside service at Rose Hills in Whittier on June 8, 2024.

She is survived by her husband, Jack; a son, Steve West of Mammoth Lakes; a daughter, Shelby Alms of Alamo; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Janet, born in Huntington Park to S.T. and Dorothy Ziler, spent her formative years in Downey. After graduating from Whittier College, she made her home in La Habra and later in Fullerton, where she resided since 1973.

Janet was not just a devoted daughter, wife, and mother but also an active member of the Fullerton First Presbyterian Church and the Philanthropic Educational Organization, where she made significant contributions.
