Marie’s passing leaves a void in the lives of her three beloved sons, Thomas (Robin), Richard (Margaret), and Robert (Aileen); three grandchildren, Richard (Jaime), Andrew (Lindsay), and Valerie (Lance), nine great-grandchildren, her brother-in-law, Walt Jaichner, sister-in-law, Barbara Steventon, her niece Kym Heitzmann, nephew, George Costello, and other nieces and nephews, as well as dear friends, Eleanor Mikuletzky, Evelyn Kenny, and Jacki Fullerton. Her husband, Thomas, sisters Dorothy, Helen, Rose, and brother George preceded her in death.
Marie was born on April 16, 1926, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Her parents, Cecelia and George Steventon, moved the family to New Jersey a few years later. She spent her teenage and adult years in the vibrant towns of Pennsauken, Collingswood, and Westmont. After a fulfilling career at our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center in Camden, New Jersey, she retired in 1986. Even in retirement, she remained active, working a few part-time positions before embarking on a new adventure in California in 1990.
Her interests were many and varied, but her love for her family was of utmost importance. She also enjoyed her weekly exercise class, travel in the U.S. and abroad, movies, and her almost weekly Texas Hold-em Poker games.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Smile Train (for children with cleft palates)
