    I counted one-hundred and seventy-three names of people, homeless, who supposedly died in the first four months of 2024 within Orange County limits.

    That seems like an awfully high number. Perhaps as a statistic it is in line with general population numbers. If not, it is quite a sad situation. I know addiction and mental illness are very common along with some horrific stories of bad fortune and harsh reality.

    It is a grim reminder that life can be difficult. Taking the time to be kind to someone may do some needed good.

    • Ostrich kind of point of view that only people who are mentally ill or battling an addiction are homeless.. some people are homeless because they have no job.. you have no place to live if you can’t pay rent and it’s just because you haven’t got work.

        In your ostrich theory of explaining life you employed the word ‘only’. I did not. I was simply attempting to put some humanity into a very bleak subject.
