Local climate activist groups staged a “Rocking Chair Rebellion” at Citibank in L.A.’s Fairfax District on Wednesday, August 29, to protest that bank’s continued investment of billions of dollars in fossil fuel projects. This event was in conjunction with this week’s continued climate demonstrations at Citibank headquarters in NYC, where bank officials have sought restraining orders against the activists and had hundreds of peaceful protestors arrested.
As with all the protests these local groups have staged this summer at other SoCal Citibank locations, Wednesday’s L.A. event was also peaceful. The groups pictured include Third Act SoCal (a chapter of Third Act, the national community of volunteers over 60 who spearheaded this campaign), the Sierra Club, Temple Isaiah’s Green Team, and Elders Climate Action SoCal, among others.

Wow – love this.
We older folks have left a lot of serious world problems for young people to solve and I have been very impressed with the way they have stepped up.
So happy to see old folks coming out. I am going to look them up and join.
