Established in 2013, Good Hands for One (GH4One) is a nonprofit organization led by middle and high school volunteers. Their mission is to provide free math tutoring to underprivileged elementary students, grades two through six. Sessions are held at the Fullerton Public Library and briefly online during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Thanks to the Fullerton Public Library, parents, and the City Council, they’ve seen hundreds of children grow in math and community involvement. They expanded the math program and offered English tutoring in the summers. They now have over 40 tutors volunteering every Saturday and more than 40 students attending. Over the past 11 years, they’ve served over 100 students.
Since the end of 2023, the organization has been hosting in-person sessions at the Fullerton Public Library. From early 2024 onwards, GH4ONE has moved to the library’s second level, open on Saturdays from 11:30 am to 1 pm. Their goal is to recruit new high school and middle school student tutors from the Fullerton area and ensure every student in the program is matched with a tutor.
