Two New Editors Join the Fullerton Observer’s Team

The New Editor for the Fullerton Observer is Urooj Naveed

Urooj is a graduate of Fullerton Union High, Fullerton College, UCLA, and the University of Chicago. She also has a publishing certificate from the University of Denver. Urooj helped start and run the Observing Fullerton Podcast in 2022-2023, and recruited and trained several volunteers in multimedia journalism.

The New Young Observers Editor is Edyn Mai

Edyn is a senior at Troy High School. She has started a digital magazine, Observing the Future, available at the website (click here observingthefuture.carrd.co). Edyn will be the Young Observer editor until she graduates from High School. The Fullerton Observer is actively seeking her successor to begin training with Edyn.

The previous Young Observers editor and founder, Francine Vudoti, spent ten years writing and four years recruiting other young writers and editing the page. Francine is now a freshman at Notre Dame University on a fully funded four-year scholarship.

The Fullerton Observer is also recruiting for many more roles. The paper is run by volunteers from our Fullerton community. If you’re interested in volunteering, please email contact@fullertonobserver.com with a resume, an explanation of which role(s) you’d be the most interested in, and a writing sample if the role requires it. In the subject line, please type New Volunteer: Attention Urooj. We look forward to working with you.

  1. I might have missed it, but have you all considered hosting/moderating a debate — live and videotaped or via podcast — among the candidates?

  2. So a newly minted maga Republican can take votes away from Whitaker? Interesting. It is also hilarious that both District 4 candidates Valencia and Whitaker have Bushala support. Go Kitty Jaramillo!!
