More than $4.8 Billion in Housing Funding Scheduled for Release in the coming year

The California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) has released its 2024-2025 Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) calendar, representing more than $4.8 billion available in housing and homelessness resources available over the next ten months.

HCD’s NOFA calendar shows:

  • All existing state and federal funding sources
  • NOFA release dates
  • Application deadlines
  • Anticipated award dates

This NOFA Calendar includes approximately $2 billion in funding approved as part of Proposition 1 and the Behavioral Health Infrastructure Bond Act approved by California voters in March 2024, in addition to ongoing multifamily finance funding such as the Affordable Housing and Sustainable Communities program and all remaining funds for HCD’s Multifamily SuperNOFA

HCD is also excited to announce programs that were previously implemented by the Interagency Council on Homelessness, including:

  • $2 billion in HHAP funds for Rounds 5 and 6 ($1 billion each round)
  • $150 million in the Encampment Resolution Program

Additionally, HCD anticipates the release of three NOFAs for Tribal Entities, totaling more than $190 million in funding for a variety of multifamily, homeownership, and infrastructure projects.
