PlantOber has ended, and the Fullerton Arboretum has finished with a total of $31,049 from 107 donors. This went above and beyond their goal of raising $20,000.
PlantOber funds supports the largest living laboratory on campus—the Arboretum. With a diverse and ever-evolving collection, the Arboretum provides unique learning opportunities for students and visitors alike. This year, they raised funds to ensure the proper upkeep and management of this incredible collection.
In a world where many plant species face extinction, the Arboretum’s mission is to conserve and “save” rare and endangered plants. Donations directly contribute to the collection, propagation, and preservation of these precious species, helping them protect the planet’s botanical diversity for generations to come.
Heritage House Sneak Peak
Join the Fullerton Arboretum for a sneak peek of the Heritage House on Friday, December 6 from 9:30 to 11:30 am.
During this exclusive open house, meet and chat with the team of students and volunteers working to reopen Heritage House for tours, programs and as a learning space for students seeking careers in the museum world. See work in progress as the team cleans and processes historic items for inventory and cataloguing. The volunteers range in skill levels and experiences. Each volunteer offers their own unique skillset, in their efforts to bring the house back to life from its previous COVID-19 closure. The Arboretum invites you to join them in a holiday celebration, Heritage House, and to observe their progress.
