Jan. 20, 2025 – Second day of Ceasefire in Gaza
“On Sunday Hamas released three Israeli women who had been held captive for 471 days since October 7, 2023. All three in stable condition as they reunited with their families. Israel released 90 Palestinians, all women and children – the youngest age 15. Under terms of the ceasefire Hamas will release 30 more Israeli captives and Israel will release 1,890 Palestinian captives. Displaced Palestinians have begun to try to return to home” though homes are mostly bombed to rubble. Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu said that Israel reserves the right to resume attacks on Gaza if it determines second stage of negotiations are fruitless. Israel killed 200 Palestinians after ceasefire was agreed to on Wednesday.
On Saturday, ahead of Trump/Vance Inauguration today, Jan 20, thousands marched nationwide in protest.

“Gold” is probably the right word. Government of the rich, by the rich and for the rich. In any event there was never a golden era in America sustained by fear and hate… mass deportations, imperialism, mercantilism, human rights abuses as Trump is promising to visit upon us. Those things have always been there but what greatness we have achieved has never been due to our worst impulses but our better ones.
