Local Talent Shines: Aleah Crew’s Journey to Kidz Bop

By submitted by Robin Crew (Aleah's proud mom) on February 20, 2025

Aleah Aryn Crew was born in Long Beach, California, on April 8, 2008. Her family, including parents Taji and Robin Crew and sisters Autumn and Aminah, moved to Fullerton, California, in Orange County when Aleah was just a year old.

From a young age, Beechwood Elementary, a K-8 school in Fullerton, nurtured Aleah’s curiosity and creativity. She embraced every opportunity to sing, dance, and imagine, excelling academically and forming lasting friendships that have been a vital part of her life since kindergarten.

Growing up in a home filled with R&B, Blues, Jazz, and Funk, Aleah’s weekends were alive with the sounds of legends like Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Luther Vandross, Stevie Wonder, Prince, and more. Inspired by this rich musical background, Aleah developed a love for DJing and spent her Friday nights battling her sisters in dance-offs on the Wii.

Dance soon became her true passion. It infused her days with energy and joy, whether she was tapping in the grocery store, twirling in the library, or mastering choreography at rehearsals.

CF Dance Academy, formerly in downtown Fullerton, became her dance haven. Under the guidance of dedicated instructors, she built a strong foundation in various dance styles, eagerly attending masterclasses in Los Angeles to refine her skills. Self-motivated and driven, Aleah constantly seeks feedback to improve her performance.

Her journey took a professional turn when she joined Mather Dance Academy, where she aimed high and dreamed big. With her parents’ support, she got an agent, and soon the auditions began. At just 12 years old, Aleah celebrated her first major break, dancing on stage with hip-hop artist Kendrick Lamar at the Day N Vegas 2021 festival.

In 2022, she had the incredible opportunity to perform at Coachella alongside hip-hop artist Lil Baby, standing out as the only child dancer among the adult performers. Then, in 2023, she auditioned for Kidz Bop. Initially considered for a swing dancer, Aleah’s talent shone through, and she was offered a spot as a principal ensemble member for the Kidz Bop 2024 Tour across the U.S. and Canada.

Balancing her new role as a Kidz Bop kid during her sophomore year at Fullerton High School, where she was one of the dance production team captains, Aleah was initially nervous about how her friends would react to her dancing to and singing Kidz Bop songs. To her delight, they embraced her new journey, cheering her on!

The energy of Kidz Bop performances is electric, igniting young fans of all backgrounds to join in and sing and dance the night away! The Kidz Bop kids connect with their audiences, sharing messages of hope and resilience and bringing smiles to Kidz Bop fans worldwide.

On March 6, 2025, Aleah and the Kidz Bop ensemble will embark on their first show at the OVO Arena in Wembley, London—a dream come true for Aleah, who is excited about her first visit to the city.

Aleah has proven herself as a natural leader, a loyal friend, and a devoted dancer, showcasing the talent of Orange County and the city of Fullerton on a national and international stage. Remember to see her perform at the Honda Center in Anaheim on September 20, 2025. Tickets are on sale NOW — Get them early—this is a show you won’t want to miss!
