A tragic traffic collision occurred on Thursday night, March 13, 2025, resulting in the death of a male pedestrian in a wheelchair. Fullerton Police Officers responded to the incident at approximately 10:52 PM near the intersection of W. Commonwealth Avenue and Library Lane.
Upon arrival, officers found the victim in the roadway suffering from severe traumatic injuries. First responders initiated life-saving measures, but unfortunately, the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the deceased is pending release by the Orange County Coroner’s Office.
According to preliminary investigations, the accident involved a gray Hyundai driven by a 41-year-old Fullerton resident, who was traveling westbound on Commonwealth Avenue. Witnesses report that the pedestrian, attempting to cross the intersection northbound, entered the roadway against a red traffic signal and was struck by the approaching vehicle.
Authorities do not suspect that alcohol or drugs were factors in the driver’s actions; however, alcohol belonging to the pedestrian was discovered at the scene.
