•Federal Education Department ordered to shut down by Trump executive order signed on Thursday. “My administration will take all lawful steps to shut down the department – we’re going to shut it down as quickly as possible – it’s doing us no good – we want to return our students to the states” he said. The department can’t be fully shut down without an act of congress – but trump’s order directs education secretary Linda McMahon to shut regional offices, transfer some of its key functions and further slash the workforce. Half have already been fired previous to the new order. •Social Security Data Base raid by DOGE temporarily halted by federal judge order stopping Musk from accessing sensitive personal information. The judge ordered personal identifiable information in data already downloaded by DOGE  to be deleted, and for software installed on systems to be removed.

•Israel breaks ceasefire attacks continue on Palestinians in Gaza –  200 children killed since Tuesday – aid workers killed –

•Federal Judge Boasberg accused the Trump Justice Department of again evading their obligations and presenting woefully insufficient information on its deportation flights of Venezuelan immigrants detained under the Alien Enemies Act to prison in El Salvador which he had previously ruled halted.

•Federal Government $70 million a year contract for private prison run by GEO Group to detain immigrants.

•UCLA – over 30 students who were brutalized during their peaceful protest of Israel’s genocidal war in Gaza against Palestinians have sued campus officials and enforcement agencies. Students set up the encampment demanding  UCLA drop financial ties to genocide last spring. An off-campus group attacked them for four hours while university security stood by. Administrators called in police the next day to forcefully remove the demonstrators. Israeli American Moryosef, a plaintiff in the action, is accusing the university of antisematism for silencing Jewish anti-genocide voices.

•Three Cornell University students have filed lawsuits seeking to block Trump/Vance Administration executive orders targeting Palestinian Rights activists.
