CSUF College of Communications Announces 47th Annual Comm Week on April 21-24 for Students and Local Community

California State University, Fullerton’s College of Communications will be hosting its 47th Annual Comm Week. An array of alumni, industry speakers, campus club mixers, and networking events will be offered for prospective communications career enthusiasts.

Scheduled to be held on the Cal State Fullerton campus at the Titan Student Union from April 21-24, the four-day-long conference aims to connect students and alumni professionals in a variety of informational presentations and panel discussions. All departments within the college, including CommunicationsCinema and Television ArtsHuman Communication Studies, and Communication Sciences and Disorders will be participating.

More than 40 alumni professionals will be speaking or participating in panels where they present knowledge of the fast-paced ever-changing industry and give guidance to students who are passionate about starting their careers. Discussion topics will include sports, journalism, social media, investigative news, fashion, and much more.

Featured speakers include:

  • Raul Aquino RojasDisneyland Ambassador, sharing insights on the Disneyland brand within the Communications & Public Affairs team at the Disneyland Resort.
  • Katie HennesseyESPN Sr. Talent Producer, discussing the inter-workings of the sports industry.
  • Vikki Vargas was the face of Orange County for NBCLA for nearly four decades. She was a TV news reporter. She also has a scholarship fund with the university. https://commweek2025.sched.com/speaker/vikki_vargas.284npnco
  • Stephanie Miranda-DeLucia is an Executive Producer of the 3-hour morning show Today in LA. The two panelists are also both recipients of the CSUF Communications Alumni Wall of Fame. https://commweek2025.sched.com/speaker/stephanie_miranda_delucia.284nq2ck

  • Britny MejiaLos Angeles Times, going over the process of story and narrative writing. Matt Prince, Head of Earned Media and Social at KFC, will lead a discussion on audience behavior to lead successful campaigns.

Comm Week will be kicking off on Monday, April 21 with a Club Showcase and Meet the Deans event where clubs within the Communications College will be participating and engaging students in a welcoming environment. In addition, David Grossmam an award-winning leadership and communication expert, will be speaking. This event starts at 11 AM, in Pavilion A at the TSU.

The conference is free and open to the public, with parking available at State College Parking Structure with a $12 day permit which can be purchased here or in person at the Visitor Information Center.

Celebrating its 47th anniversary, the CSUF Comm Week Task Force is a committee made up of undergraduate and graduate students who plan and fully execute the event in the COMM 497T class. As part of the Comm Week legacy, our mission is to bring the professional world to the public to showcase the diverse array of communication fields and allow students to gain a better understanding of potential careers.
