California State University, Fullerton (CSUF) is set to honor National Poetry Month with a vibrant event titled “Origins and Inspirations: Celebrating 2025 National Poetry Month.” Scheduled for Wednesday, April 30, 2025, the celebration will unfold at the O’Brien Center, 800 State College Blvd, Fullerton, and is free and open to the public.
The day’s schedule includes renowned poets and community participation, beginning with David A. Romero from 10:00 AM to 11:15 AM, followed by a Community Reading session from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM, where attendees can sign up to share their own work via a link provided in promotional materials. The event will conclude with a reading by acclaimed poet Muriel Leung from 1:00 PM to 2:15 PM.
This year’s theme invites participants to delve into their origins, personal journeys, and sources of inspiration. Attendees are encouraged to reflect on meaningful questions such as: What defines your origins? What drives you to create?
The event promises to enrich the poetry celebration with insights and creative expressions from the invited poets. The Community Reading session aims to foster a vibrant exchange of ideas and emotions among university and community members.
Organizers emphasize the event’s goal of providing a welcoming space for personal and shared experiences through poetry’s expansive power. Refreshments will be available, adding to the inviting atmosphere.
“Join us in this quest and celebration of creativity and inspiration during National Poetry Month,” Jie Tian
Research Librarian at Cal State Fullerton stated, highlighting the enriching experience that awaits all participants.
