The dedication ceremony for “Tara’s Garden,” a vital new initiative aimed at combatting food insecurity in Orange County, has been rescheduled for Saturday, May 17, at 2:00 PM. The event will take place at the Tara’s Chance property, located at 219 E Claire Ave, Fullerton.
Originally set to honor the launch of this community-driven project, the ceremony was postponed due to inclement weather. Tara’s Garden aims to provide fresh, organic produce to local soup kitchens, addressing the urgent need for accessible food options in the area. In addition to this, the project will offer life-skills education programs for school children, fostering a sense of community and empowerment among youth.
Barry Woodbridge, the visionary behind the project, has garnered significant support through numerous financial and in-kind donations. A list of sponsors contributing to Tara’s Garden will be available at the event.
Community members are encouraged to attend the dedication, which is expected to draw attention from local media, including KCAL News, Orange County Register and Fullerton Observer, as well as representatives from State Assembly Member Sharon Quirk-Silva’s office, the office of OC Supervisor Doug Chaffee, and the Fullerton City Council.
