The Fullerton Police Department hosted its 2nd Annual 5-mile Ruck March at the Fullerton Loop on June 7, 2025 alongside the National Guard. After the march there was a pancake breakfast. And then the Alpha Co, 1st battalion, 160th infantry Army National Guard was deployed to Los Angeles according to its Facebook page.
According to June 9 news reports Trump ordered 2000 National Guard members and 700 active duty Marines to LA.

Meanwhile the mostly peaceful, relatively small demonstration of several hundred people from Friday and Saturday where several cars were set on fire – swelled to 1000 on Sunday with two lanes of the 101 shut down briefly.
Protesters were tear-gassed and shot with rubber bullets and according to reports, at one location David Huerta, leader of the Service Employees International Union in Los Angeles was arrested , wounded (requiring hospital attention), and detained.
The demonstrations were spontaneously sparked after neighbors and passerby witnessing ICE raids and arrests of workers at several businesses in LA, Compton, and a Home Depot in Paramount. Protestors yelled at the agents and threw rocks. A car was set on fire. According to DHS 118 were arrested.
Recent previous demonstrations in LA have drawn 35,000 with no incidents. Both LA Mayor Bass and California Governor Newsom have said that sending in military troops made no sense and only escalated the tense situation. California is suing the Trump Administration for taking control of the California National Guard without state approval.
Demonstrations on all Trump/Vance 2025 regime’s actions including ICE excesses are planned on Saturday, June 14 nationwide in what is called “No Kings” protests with the closest to Fullerton at La Palma Park, 1151 N La Palma Pkwy, Anaheim. Speculation is that the hightened National Guard and Marine presence might deter some from joining the protests.
The National Guard Armory in Fullerton, located at 400 Brookhurst (at Valencia), has been mostly vacant over the past year so nearby neighbors were concerned when they saw activity there especially concerning ICE raids in LA. A small anti-ICE protest was reported at the Armory. California is a Sanctuary State which bars local law enforcement from coordinating with federal agents. Fullerton Police have said they do not cooperate in ICE raids and arrests.
If you see ICE in Fullerton you can call and report to the OC Rapid Response hotline at (714) 881-1558.
OC Rapid Response is connected to partners like ACLU and can be helpful in the case someone is confronted with ICE.

You need a dictionary. Peaceful and cars on fire don’t belong in same article.
