Immigration Enforcement Activity: Know Your Rights and Be Prepared

Dear Neighbor,

Following recent immigration enforcement actions in Paramount, Huntington Park and nearby communities, I want to share important information to help you and your loved ones stay informed, protected, and prepared.

While these situations can create uncertainty, there are concrete steps you can take now:

Know Your Rights

  • You are not required to open the door to immigration agents without a warrant signed by a judge.
  • You have the right to remain silent.
  • You have the right to speak to a lawyer.
  • You do not have to sign any documents you don’t understand.

Sincerely,

Signature
Sharon Quirk-Silva
Assemblywoman, 67th District
