US Citizen Detained by ICE on Kramer & Yorba Linda Blvd

A retiree was approached by a woman who called him by name. He didn’t recognize her and wondered how she knew his name but when he answered her she said “You have a warrant out for your arrest.” As he answered back that she was incorrect –  he was surrounded by six masked ICE agents who attempted to arrest him despite the fact that he is a US citizen and was able to show both his US passport and drivers license. The agents had no warrant.

Below see an interview of this horrific experience that has been posted on Instagram by OC Rapid Response Network at https://www.instagram.com/ocrrn/reel/DLYJqSYzcSe/

If you see ICE – capture the incident on video if possible – and call OC Rapid Response at 714-881-1558 for help and to report the incident. OCRRN works with the ACLU and other groups to make sure people approached by ICE get the help they need.

  1. Ordinarily if I saw masked men kidnapping someone on the street I would call 911. Now that doesn’t seem like it would work. We (those with white privilege) may have to all stand up together and protect our neighbors.

  2. Horrifying. Was it OC Rapid Response who got him out of that mess? I don’t see details on how he was released.

ED Response: Brady, the story is purposefully vague to prevent backlash. He was released without charges after being handcuffed and detained. OC Rapid Response was called. Check out the Instagram link to his interview with OCRRN for the details of what he was able to say.
