A Celebration of Art and Community
The Fullerton College Art Department and Art Gallery are set to present “Parking Lot Prints!”, a dynamic event dedicated to zines and printmaking, on Saturday, July 19, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM at the campus located at 321 East Chapman Ave. The event will take place in front of building 1000, utilizing parking lots A and 8, directly facing Chapman Avenue.
“Parking Lot Prints!” promises to transform the Art Department parking lot into a vibrant hub of creativity, showcasing the talents of over fifty zine artists and printmakers. Attendees can expect an eclectic mix of zines, prints, books, patches, stickers, and much more at the zine fest and artist market.
Highlighting the event will be the “Big Prints” feature, where more than 20 artists and students will collaborate to create original, large-scale woodblock prints using a 36” drum roller, guided by master printer Todd Smith. Once completed, these striking black-and-white prints will be carefully transported to the Art Gallery, where they will be installed by Gallery Technician Seija Rohkea and her team.
For those looking to get hands-on, interactive “Print Maker” tables will allow attendees, with assistance from Fullerton College students, to create their own multicolor block prints, monotypes, and zines. Guests are also invited to bring their own t-shirts to have the official “Parking Lot Prints!” logo printed as a memento of the day.
Music will fill the air thanks to DJ Alan, who will be spinning live throughout the event. Foodies can indulge in delicious offerings from Guac n’Roll Tacos, conveniently serving up tasty bites right on site.
Public parking will be free in any of the Fullerton College campus lots, though it’s important for attendees to note that Campus Safety will enforce parking regulations, including handicapped parking violations and red zones.
This exciting event is free and open to the public, welcoming all—from seasoned printmakers to newcomers curious about the art form. Join the Fullerton College community in celebrating creativity, connection, and the art of printmaking!
