Complete Streets is now accepting applications for Community Connectors

The Complete Streets program has announced the launch of its second round of applications for the Community Connectors initiative, backed by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. This program aims to support small to mid-sized cities in addressing the challenges posed by dangerous and divisive roadways through quick-build demonstration projects.

In its inaugural year, Community Connectors has already made significant strides in helping communities re-establish their transportation systems. This year, the program seeks three collaborative teams, each comprising a local government and a community-based organization, from cities with populations ranging between 50,000 and 500,000. Those selected will join a yearlong cohort starting this fall.

As part of the program, each team will receive $25,000 for a temporary safety demonstration project, as well as up to $20,000 in expert design support and travel coverage for an in-person meeting.

Interested teams are encouraged to apply before the deadline on August 31, 2025. This initiative represents a crucial opportunity for cities to take meaningful action toward improving their transportation landscapes and fostering safer community interactions.
