As summer comes to a close and children prepare to head back to school, the grassroots organization Indivisible CA45 is gearing up for a series of events aimed at addressing local and national political issues. Run entirely by volunteers, the organization seeks financial support to cover essential costs related to their various activities in California’s 45th district—covering everything from communications and postage to printing and event logistics.
In a time of heightened political drama, particularly surrounding the legal troubles of former President Donald Trump, Indivisible CA45 emphasizes the importance of maintaining public pressure. The organization encourages community members to participate in ongoing efforts to call out governmental wrongdoing and advocate for policy changes.
Additionally, Indivisible CA45 has organized weekly protests to oppose what they describe as the “abuse of power” by the Trump administration. Weekly gatherings are planned for Mondays from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM in Brea, with participants encouraged to stay hydrated and, if desired, bring protest signs. Registration for these events can be completed through their online platform. Please register: https://www.mobilize.us/mobilize/event/821256/
Another notable initiative is the Braver Angels Workshop titled “Depolarizing Conversations,” scheduled for August 16th at 11:00 AM. This two-hour online session aims to provide attendees with practical skills for navigating divisive discussions, incorporating updated examples and issues relevant to contemporary society. The group has scheduled a General Meeting on August 23rd, featuring a speaker from VietRISE, an organization focused on empowering Vietnamese Americans. Details about the meeting’s location are forthcoming. Check them out: https://vietrise.org/
