FAST has a pool offering adult lap-times and swimming lessons, the Boys and Girls Club and the Senior Center are both located in the building, and many activities and classes take place there for toddlers through seniors. You can also rent space for your special occasion. Call the center at 714-738-6575. or visit the Fullerton Community Center website for details. Or just pop in for a visit. There is a large parking lot in the back.
Meanwhile see below for a few free things that were happening last Monday morning. FREE/REDUCED FEE TAXI PROGRAM for residents over 60: Visit Erika or one of her partners at the Community Center front desk and ask for the Taxi Application. It is one-page and easy to fill out on the spot. Erika says it takes about a week to be approved at which time you receive an ID number so you can call and have a taxi take you to and from the Fullerton Community Center or doctor appointments at no charge. You can also go on rides to other locations in town for a reduced rate of $1 to $3. The program is paid for through Measure M funds.

QUILT-MAKING FOR HOSPICE: A group of ladies cutting and sewing quilts were in a room with wide tables. Some were measuring and cutting the batting material and backing into 3 x 4 foot rectangles and trimming colorful scrap material into squares while others did the hand and machine sewing. There was a stack of beautifully finished quilts. Incredibly the group produces about 60 quilts per quarter which are then donated to hospice groups to comfort those nearing the end of their lives.
