Are you aware this country isn’t and never has been a “democracy”?
Are you aware that your supposedly-rhetorical question isn’t the clever and incontrovertible ‘gotcha’ you think it is?
Good answer.
When you make that statement, you should explain what you mean. If you know, educate those who don’t. The United States is a constitutional federal republic with democratic principals. For an explanation of this type of government, Google it.
Actually our country is considered a democracy. Not a direct democracy. But a representative democratic constitutional republic. You can take your dumb right wing talking point used to excuse power ending up anywhere else than under the control of the people and stick it.
Some people are so easily and willingly subjugated. Is it your ideology? Conditioning? Victim complex? Our system allows us to take as much control as we want. Or as little, as we have at the moment, which you seem to be happy with. Instead power is in the hands of one angry incompetent fool, the opposite of what our constitution is designed to create.
Hugh, it was founded explicitely as a democratic republic. Your assertion is completely naive and perverted by reactionary and revisionist propaganda. Are you also going to espouse the “Lost Cause” explanation of the Civil War… That the cause was not a demand of Southern States to maintain and uphold slavery? Both are just as wrong narratives.
I heard this line being pushed by a John Bircher through her son when I was in 5th grade.(When dinosaurs ruled the Earth.) She’d employed her little kid to spread printed Bircher memes at our school, which gives you some idea of the level of moral turpitude she had.
(Her son, as a result of resenting being used as a tool, was one of the most aggressive and hostile kids in that school. I think she named him Tempest, or something like that. Gads.)
Get a new line, you nut. Go away. This is so old hat.
