A free Mental Health Forum is set for Thursday, October 16, from 5:30 to 7 pm, to address the toll that continued actions by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) have taken on the local community. Hosted by community leader Mayor Pro Tem Dr. Shana Charles, the forum aims to highlight the mental health consequences of these actions and provide support resources for affected individuals.
The event will feature Dr. Nefta Pereda from Radiant Futures, CSUF Professor of Chicana/o Studies Cristal B. Flores and others, who will participate in what is expected to be a critical discussion about the intersection of the current administration’s immigration policies and community well-being. Attendees will also have access to local mental health resources, emphasizing the importance of community support during challenging times.
This forum seeks to foster awareness and conversation about the mental health issues arising from immigration enforcement and promote healing within the community.
The event will be at the Fullerton Community Center in classroom 2, 340 W Commonwealth Ave, Fullerton. RSVP to Shana.Charles@CityofFullerton.com
