The City Council will vote on a resolution reaffirming our community’s values on immigration and ICE enforcement at 5:30 PM on Tuesday, November 4. The resolution includes $100,000 for a legal defense fund and another $100,000 to support local non-profits providing basic needs for those affected. Funding will be sourced from available General Fund reserves.
This measure is in response to federal ICE raids at our local businesses and detaining Fullerton residents, including citizens, without warrants or due process. The cities of Costa Mesa, Santa Ana and Anaheim, among others, have already taken this step.
The resolution states the City affirms “the city’s role in protecting civil rights, maintaining community trust, and promoting the safety and well-being of all residents regardless of immigration status.”
