The DOWNTOWN Report: mid-November 2025

Bookish

Thanks to our readers, who apparently also read three-dimensional books printed via ink on real paper, we have a bit more info regarding where you can get such things. Reader Dave reminded us about The Friends of the Fullerton Library Bookstore, which helps fund our library. Head over soon, and while you’re there, stop by the café attached to the library and support them too.

Anniversaries

We often spotlight business anniversaries. If you are a downtown business owner, we encourage you to contact us in advance so we can feature a photo and mention you in the following issue. In this issue, we congratulate Allison’s Goods for their 6 years, two of them at their storefront at 815 N. Harbor.

Veteran’s Day Returns

The City of Fullerton revived the Veterans’ Day parade as a community event honoring the service of all branches of the U.S. military after the American Legion Post 142 disbanded in 2024. Read about the Legion’s Veterans’ Day parade difficulties in 2023 (click here).

Update: Union Pacific Trail

The Union Pacific trail is coming right along, as you can see. Paving is in, many of the trees are planted, and other design features are taking shape, so we can imagine in person just what it will be like when locals are moving on the trail west to Independence Park and east to Union Pacific Park.

More Locals

As to Union Pacific Park, you have seen that much of the playground equipment is installed, and the hope is that both the trail and the park will open as planned by the end of this year.

Now that the mystery is solved and we know the new building and drive-through on Chapman and Pomona serve fast money, not food, we can also announce that the Chase location on Harbor, just north of Ralph’s, will close in favor of the newer, more modern, and more accessible one on Chapman. The exterior is almost complete, but workers are still busy with the interior. If you still want fast food, just head West across the McParking lot.

The multi-purpose Ostrich Egg Distillery and virtual golf course structure is looking close to being finished, at least on the exterior. Still no word on when it will be open for business, but we will keep an eye on it.

Photo Quiz

Send answer to Mike at AllMedia@sbcglobal.net

Last time: Many crazy answers, none correct on the three questions. Too difficult? The color pink signified Pinktober, the photo was taken in front of the Police Station on Chapman.

Bonus question: We deleted the palm tree trunk just to see if anyone was paying attention. Apparently, not many were, ha.

This time: Where is this located?
