The City of Fullerton’s Public Works Street Division is gearing up for a revised street sweeping schedule that aims to enhance the cleanliness and safety of local roads. The department will be sweeping city streets weekly, except for private roads and those lacking curbs and gutters. Streets are typically swept the day after trash collection, but residents are reminded that circumstances such as holidays and heavy rain may disrupt this schedule.
Key changes are on the horizon for both the Monday and Tuesday street sweeping zones. The updated schedule for the Tuesday Zone will take effect on December 2, 2025. Residents are encouraged to adjust their parking habits, as warnings will be issued until January 5, 2026. After this grace period, citations will be enforced starting January 6.
Similarly, the Monday Zone will see a new schedule commencing on September 8, 2025. Warnings will be issued until October 12, after which standard parking enforcement will resume. See schedule below.
Residents within the city are advised to help keep streets clean by refraining from dumping grass clippings and ensuring that vehicles are not parked on the street during scheduled sweeping days. With street sweeping essential for effective stormwater management, visible signage indicating street sweeping schedules will be posted in neighborhoods.
The Fullerton Police Department Traffic Bureau oversees the enforcement of parking regulations. Citations may be issued where signs indicate “No Parking for Street Sweeping.” Individuals who contest their citations or need assistance regarding lost citations can follow the procedures stated on the ticket or contact the appropriate numbers for help.
Services will be suspended on specific holidays including New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas, with make-up sweeps scheduled the following week to ensure all areas are maintained.
For additional inquiries about the street sweeping schedule, residents can contact the Public Works Street Supervisor, Rigo Aceves, at (714) 738-5344 or reach the Public Works Department at (714) 738-6897.
