Fullerton School District (FSD), home to nationally recognized, award-winning schools, programs, and people, has announced its Open Enrollment period for the 2026–27 school year, which will take place between Jan. 12 to Feb. 13, 2026. Open Enrollment is a time for families to submit applications to request that their student attend a school other than their school of residence. Forms for Open Enrollment will be accessible online beginning Jan. 12 at www.fullertonsd.org.
New for Junior High Families
To ensure continuity for students and support families, FSD is introducing a simplified transfer process for junior high enrollment. Approved transfers secured in 7th grade will now remain valid and continue automatically for the full two-year junior high span (grades 7–8), unless otherwise specified in the transfer agreement.
Allen Bill Enrollment Option for Parents/Guardians Working in Fullerton
Parents or guardians who are physically employed within the FSD attendance boundaries for at least 10 hours per week may be eligible to enroll their student through the Allen Bill option. This pathway offers families working in Fullerton the opportunity to access FSD’s world-class programs without first obtaining an interdistrict permit from their district of residence.
Understanding Transfer Options
Aside from the Allen Bill, families are eligible to apply to have their children attend a school that is not in their attendance boundary through a transfer process.
Intradistrict Transfers
Families residing within FSD boundaries may apply for their student to attend another school within FSD using the Intradistrict Transfer process.
Interdistrict Transfers
Families living outside of the FSD school boundaries who wish for their student to attend a Fullerton School District school may pursue enrollment through theInterdistrict Transfer process.
Details for both options are available on the district website www.fullertonsd.org.
