Sparkling Fun and Fund-Raiser
“Drinking for Daniel” to fight Children’s cancer is a can’t miss evening of giving and receiving coming up in the Sparkle Ball neighborhood at 7pm on Saturday, December 19th. Organized by the parents of Daniel Bustle, who waged a war on Neuroblastoma for 3 valiant years and lost his fight at the tender age of 6. You want to give something that means something this season?
Be there and make your small $40 donation that will fund treatment for many children. Donated wine, a small picnic box, dessert table and wow, a golf cart tour through the neighborhood will be among the offerings, and unless you just fell of a turnip truck, you know just where that neighborhood is. Head to http://www.drinkingfordaniel.org now for the Eventbrite link, get your tickets and get ready to feel good about giving children a chance to experience many more nights like this one. OK, OK, Dave & Karin are at 812 E Union Ave, BE THERE!!
Reach for the Stars
Since you are now reading this we can assume that you always read this newspaper very carefully, therefore you were not shocked to see a large steel structure appear on Lemon and Chapman. You knew the Performing Arts Center was taking shape. Or, you may have missed our last issue and thought a modern sculpture was being installed.
Perhaps you have been immersed in your own world and have not been by there lately, so naturally this image is a surprise. As you can plainly see, they are moving fast now, with a lot of the foundation work done, and the structure is reaching for the stars. Human stars will be performing inside at a later date.
Winning with Women
The night was so epic, we wanted to provide a little more ink here.
First off, the one who makes this local newspaper possible, Saskia Kennedy, whose eloquent words hit home with everyone who knows just how hard she has worked to earn the Community Connector Award.
Decades long time friend Jane Reifer finally gets the spotlight for saving the Fox Fullerton and many other landmarks that make our town what it is, receiving the Lifetime Leadership Award.
Finally, the Leadership in Business goes to Allison Ritto, who also was recognized by the BusinessRate staff for her business Allison’s Goods, citing local leaders in customer satisfaction, brand reputation, and service excellence verified from Google Reviews.
Tree Lighting at City Hall
The City of Fullerton kicked off the holiday season on December 5 with its Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony. Families and community members showed up for an evening of festive activities and cheer.
The SoCo Bowl
Not yet as well known as the Hollywood or Rose Bowls, the outdoor stage at Bootleggers was just about as exciting, with three excellent bands taking turns wowing the crowd on Saturday, December 6. With endless controversy regarding such fun, maybe we will soon see objections, yet, the trains just a few feet away seem to create a lot more in the way of Dbs. What say you?
