Community Rallies Against ICE Violence in Fullerton

Approximately 400 people gathered at Fullerton City Hall on January 9 for a community rally aimed at protesting the recent killing by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in Minneapolis, as well as the increasing incidents of ICE abductions in Orange County. The event, organized for individuals of faith and conscience, served as a platform for those wishing to stand against these actions.

Participants voiced their demands for an immediate end to ICE operations in Orange County, sought justice for victims of ICE actions, and called for a nationwide halt to deportations. Attendees expressed solidarity with law-abiding immigrants who are integral to the community, families, and friendships.

Singer Nina Fernandez graced the crowd with an uplifting song. Council Member Dr. Shana Charles read the words of Becca Good last night at the protest against ICE and vigil for her wife, Renee Nicole Good, who ICE killed on January 7, 2026.

The rally was organized by a coalition that included the Live Oak United Church of Christ, First Christian Church of Fullerton, and the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Fullerton.

This nonviolent demonstration unified the community against what organizers described as escalating violence and injustices perpetrated by ICE.

  1. When the Nazis came for the communists,
    I kept quiet; I wasn’t a communist.

    When they came for the trade unionists, I kept quiet;
    I wasn’t a trade unionist.

    When they locked up the social democrats, I kept quiet;
    I wasn’t a social democrat.

    When they locked up the Jews, I kept quiet;
    I wasn’t a Jew.

    When they came for me, there was no one left to protest.
