In a bold response to the overwhelming dominance of large corporations, Erin Fangmann and Kate Marsh Lord, co-founders of Little Blue Cart, have officially launched the progressive online marketplace Little Blue Market, tailored for consumers who want their purchasing power to reflect their values. Established in 2025, the Little Blue Cart directory was born out of a commitment to support small businesses that champion democracy, equality, and inclusion.
The initiative gained momentum following the divisive 2024 election, when the founders, both military spouses who met in Japan, recognized the need for a platform that connects conscious consumers with businesses that align with anti-Trump sentiments and advocate for woman-owned, BIPOC-owned, and queer-owned enterprises.
“Little Blue Market is more than just a shopping platform; it’s a movement,” said Fangmann. “We believe that how we spend our money matters, and we want to empower consumers to make choices that align with their values.”
The launch of Little Blue Market comes in response to consumer feedback. Many users expressed a desire for an easier way to navigate and shop from vetted businesses that support progressive principles. With this launch, the founders aim to demonstrate that values-based shopping is not only possible but can thrive.
“This is our opportunity to show that when we openly discuss our values, it builds trust and community,” Marsh Lord explained. “Small businesses don’t need to remain silent to succeed. This marketplace is a space where they can thrive while standing firm in their beliefs.”
Little Blue Market features a diverse array of vendors, including those owned by women, BIPOC individuals, LGBTQ+ members, veterans, and differently-abled entrepreneurs. The platform aims to simplify the shopping experience for consumers who are keen to make socially conscious choices.
As the buzz around the launch grows, supporters are encouraged to participate in this values-driven revolution by shopping from the featured businesses, creating accounts to save their favorite products, and sharing the platform with like-minded friends.
“The demand for shopping that reflects our values is real,” Fangmann stated. “Every click and every purchase sends a clear message that this kind of marketplace not only deserves to exist but can flourish.”
With Little Blue Market now live, the founders invite consumers to become a part of this transformative journey, proving that community-aligned commerce can indeed be sustainable, joyful, and powerful.
