Free Discussion Society invites community dialogue about Fullerton

The Free Discussion Society is set to host an engaging community event inviting residents of Fullerton to share their thoughts and insights on the theme, “What does Fullerton mean to you?” Participants will have the opportunity to express what they love about the city and propose ideas for improvement.

Scheduled for Sunday, February 8, at 6 pm, the event will take place at the Las Lomas Verdes Swim Club, located at 2101 Victoria Drive, Fullerton, CA.

Founded in 2017 by Bam Paul, the Free Discussion Society aims to promote a culture of democracy through respectful, non-partisan dialogue on important issues. “If we ever lose democracy on a political level, it will be because we lost it on a cultural level first,” Paul stated, emphasizing the importance of fostering open communication within the community.

During the event, each participant will be allotted two minutes to share their perspectives on the prompt. Following the initial sharing, the host will facilitate a Q&A segment based on the expressed opinions, leading into an open discussion where attendees will be called upon to contribute.

The society aims to create an environment that prioritizes respect and understanding, making it clear that there will be zero tolerance for personal attacks or disrespectful behavior. “In-person conversations are better than online ones,” the organization notes, underscoring the value of face-to-face interaction in exploring significant topics such as feminism, racism, healthcare, and freedom of speech.

All community members are welcome to attend this open forum where diverse viewpoints can be shared and valued.
