The Phantom Projects Theatre Group is calling on the community to lend a hand at their volunteer event scheduled for Sunday, January 18, from 12 to 4 pm. This opportunity allows theatre enthusiasts to come together, meet new friends, and prepare for the upcoming season alongside fellow lovers of the arts.

Participants in the volunteer event will not only contribute to the success of future shows but will also earn a voucher for a free ticket to an upcoming performance as a token of appreciation. The group emphasizes that no special skills are required, making it an inclusive opportunity for individuals aged 12 and up.
Volunteers will assist with cleaning, organizing, and rearranging set pieces, furniture, and various items in the theatre’s warehouse. In addition to the rewarding experience of supporting the theatre, participants can expect good music, breaks, and plenty of food throughout the day.
No special skills needed! For more information or any questions, interested individuals can contact the theatre at 714-690-2900.
Phantom Projects Theatre Group
Revitalizes Historic La Habra Depot Theatre
Steve Cisneros, founder and Producing Artistic Director of Phantom Projects Theatre Group, has made significant strides in the local arts community since launching the organization at just 17 years old. With over 300 productions under his belt, including musicals, concerts, and special events, Cisneros has firmly established himself as a pivotal figure in the theatrical landscape of Southern California.
Despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, which halted two national tours that had garnered enthusiastic audiences in five states, Cisneros remains undeterred. His innovative spirit led to a transformative partnership with the City of La Mirada at the age of 19, resulting in the creation of the “Theatre for a Teen Audience” series at the La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts. This initiative has included a range of premieres, with performances that emphasize arts education. Vast media coverage from outlets like CBS, NBC, and ABC has further highlighted this groundbreaking collaboration.
Cisneros’s experience also encompasses management roles at renowned venues, including Nederlander’s Hollywood Pantages Theatre and the South Coast Repertory. In 2021, he led Phantom Projects to take over operations at the historic La Habra Depot, a venue that has since undergone extensive renovations.
After six months of renovations, the newly rebranded Phantom Projects Theatre at La Habra Depot reopened with a star-studded gala featuring artists Aloe Blacc and Maya Jupiter. The extensive makeover includes new carpeting, flooring, and state-of-the-art equipment, ensuring a high-quality experience for future performances and events.
Cisneros, whose early career included acting in various pilots and commercials, cites the support of his family and the contributions of countless volunteers as the foundation of his success. He remains grateful for the “Phantom Phamily” that has embraced and nurtured the vision of the theatre. “Theatre matters. You matter,” Cisneros emphasizes, underscoring his commitment to fostering artistic expression and community engagement.
As Phantom Projects Theatre Group continues to evolve, it promises to be a cornerstone of cultural enrichment in La Habra and beyond, reaffirming the significance of live performance in the fabric of the community.
