Arrest Made in Disturbing Child Endangerment Case After Viral Video Emerges

The Fullerton Police Department has made an arrest in a troubling child endangerment case that gained attention after a shocking video circulated widely on social media. The footage reportedly shows a small child falling from the passenger side of a moving SUV at the intersection of North Euclid Street and West Malvern Avenue.

In the viral video, a black SUV turns eastbound onto West Malvern Avenue from southbound North Euclid Street. As the vehicle proceeds through the intersection, the front passenger door swings open, and a 19-month-old child tumbles onto the road. The driver immediately brings the vehicle to a stop, narrowly avoiding a collision with a car following behind. The video concludes with an adult woman, identified as the child’s mother, Jacqueline Hernandez, 35, rushing from the driver’s side, picking up the child, and returning to the SUV.

Authorities were alerted to the incident on January 24, 2026, when a witness stepped forward and provided key details about the SUV’s identification. Following up on this lead, officers located the vehicle, the child, and Hernandez at a residence in La Habra.

The child suffered injuries consistent with a fall and has since been transported to an area hospital. Fortunately, officials report that the child is expected to make a full recovery. Hernandez has been arrested and booked at the Fullerton City Jail on charges of felony child abuse.

The incident is believed to have taken place on January 20, 2026, between 8:00 am and 9:00 am. Notably, the Fullerton Police Department received no prior calls regarding the incident, prompting them to seek additional witnesses to come forward.

This investigation remains ongoing.
