Impromptu Protest Against ICE Draws Support on Harbor Blvd

A spontaneous protest against U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) unfolded on the busy intersection of Harbor Boulevard and Chapman Avenue at 4 pm on January 30. Organized by a small group of six high school students, the demonstration also included a local resident who brought her children to join the cause.

As the protesters waved signs and called for immigration reform, passing drivers honked their horns in support, creating a powerful chorus of encouragement. One teenager stood with her back to the traffic, there to provide moral support. This event highlights the increasing youth engagement in social justice issues and the community’s solidarity with marginalized populations.

  1. Good job kids/parents. Too many Americans first response was the same as the administration: assume the worst of civilians involved, immediately lie or make up excuses to justify killings.

The burden always needs to be squarely place on the state to prove force was absolutely necessary. It should never be a jump ball. It should never be, well if you had just stayed home everything would be fine. Or you can only use some of your freedoms, not all at once. Or you can only expect to safely exercise your freedoms outside the view of government agents.

  2. Performative Gathering on Harbor Blvd: 6 Teens + 1 Mom Virtue-Signal in Traffic

Yesterday’s blockbuster anti-ICE “uprising” in Fullerton? Six high schoolers and one local mom (who brought her kids for extra moral weight) stood on the corner of Harbor Blvd and Chapman Ave for about 20 minutes of sign-waving and shouting. A handful of drivers honked while trying to get home. No policies changed, no minds swayed, just seven people performing their virtue-signal ritual.

The youth revolution is here… and it fits in one minivan.

Ed Response: You discount the brave students in this story because of their numbers? We applaud them for standing up. Please stay tuned for coverage of a demonstration involving hundreds of local students that took place the same day.

    • “Juanita” – are there protests that are not “performative”?

      What is your problem?

      • Just moved to Fullerton and am interesting in subscribing. Im a bit concerned about this post tho attacking a person for their opinion. I prefer people to be polite and respectful to each other regardless of opinions expressed. When it is a personal attack it is just frustrating and hurtful.

        • Uh uh. Subscribe away, I don’t work here.

If you actually thought that “Sven,” you’d have commented on “juanita’s” post not mine as she was attacking the very idea of young people expressing themselves politically. I promise you that post does not come across as polite and respectful.

I think your post is as inauthentic/insincere as “juanita”‘s, but I won’t demand you respect me or my opinion this time either.
