As communities continue to recover from the disruptions caused by severe winter weather in February, the American Red Cross is urging eligible donors to step forward and give blood or platelets during Red Cross Month in March. The extreme conditions significantly impacted blood drive collections and halted regular donation routines, creating an urgent need for donations.

From March 1 to March 31, 2026, the Red Cross will incentivize donations by offering free A1C testing for all successful blood, platelet, and plasma donations (limited to one result per calendar year). In addition, donors will receive a $15 Amazon gift card via email as a token of appreciation for their contributions.
