South Coast AQMD Unveiled Cutting-Edge Zero-Emission Technologies at Annual Showcase

The South Coast Air Quality Management District (South Coast AQMD) hosted its Annual Technology Showcase on March 6, 2026, offering a glimpse into the future of clean transportation and air quality solutions. This free, hands-on event featured an impressive lineup of next-generation zero-emission vehicles, autonomous equipment, and advanced air monitoring tools.

Among the highlights was an advanced electric fire engine from the Rancho Cucamonga Fire District—one of the first of its kind deployed in North America. This demonstrated the expanding role of zero-emission technology in critical emergency response operations, showcasing how innovation was making strides towards cleaner, healthier communities.

Attendees had the opportunity to explore a variety of cutting-edge equipment, including electric school buses, zero-emission heavy-duty trucks, and robotic landscaping tools, and to engage with live demonstrations of air-monitoring drones and mobile laboratories. The event aimed to provide participants with a unique opportunity to see, touch, and experience technologies designed to improve air quality and protect public health.

The showcase also emphasized the role of public-private partnerships in advancing clean air initiatives, as many of the featured technologies were developed and demonstrated through South Coast AQMD’s grant and incentive programs.

Various local, regional, and state agency officials, industry leaders, fleet owners, and other stakeholders were present, offering ample opportunities for networking and discussion on funding opportunities for clean transportation.

For those unable to attend, highlights from the event can be viewed on YouTube. The showcase aimed not only to educate but also to inspire collective action towards reducing air pollution in the region.

For more information, visitors were encouraged to check South Coast AQMD’s website or engage with them on social media platforms such as Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), and Instagram.
