Fatal Single Vehicle Collision on Rosecrans Avenue and Gilbert Street

Fullerton Police Officers responded to the area of N. Gilbert St. and Rosecrans Ave. at approximately 12:32 AM on March 24, 2024, regarding a single-vehicle traffic collision. 

Upon arrival, officers located a gray 2022 Volkswagen Tiguan with significant front-end damage just north of the intersection on the west side of the street. Officers located the driver, an adult male, inside the vehicle. Sadly, he was pronounced deceased on the scene by the Fullerton Fire Department. No other passengers were in the vehicle. 

Initial investigation indicates that the Volkswagen was traveling northbound on Gilbert St. at a high rate of speed before colliding with a wall. 

The Orange County Coroner’s Office will release the driver’s identity. 

At this time, Accident Investigators do not suspect any other vehicles were involved, and it is unknown whether drugs or alcohol played a factor in the cause of the collision.
