
The 11th Annual Citywide Volunteer Day began at 8am on April 20 with breakfast in the quad at Fullerton College for the volunteers, with entertainment from the OLLI Senior Flash Mob. Several community leaders gave inspirational speeches. Volunteers worked hard to make Fullerton a better place to live, work, study, and play by giving their time and a little effort to beautifying Fullerton by painting, cleaning, removing graffiti, blood drives, car wash, food drive, Landscaping, planting, and building necessary structures. Volunteer locations included:
Schools: Raymond, Valencia Park, Pacific Drive, Nicolas Jr, Fullerton Union, Eastside Christian, Hermosa Drive, Rolling Hills, Fern Drive, Woodcrest, Commonwealth, Beechwood, Robert Fisler, Sunset Lane, and Parks Jr.
Parks and Trails: Lions Field, Ford Park, Independence Park, Hughes Trail, Castlewood Trail, Juanita Cooke Trail, and Fullerton Median (Brea Blvd)
Care for the Elderly: Sunny Crest, Cedar Hills Mobile Home Park, and St Catherine’s
Nonprofits: Solidarity, Boys and Girls Main, Boys and Girls Teen Center, Tara’s Chance, and a food drive at Grocery Outlet
