Women March for Women’s Rights and Against Fascism in Santa Ana

On International Women’s Day, around 110 women congregated for a march, passionately opposing what many describe as a “fascist takeover” of women’s rights. The event served not only as a commemoration of the anniversary of the Roe v. Wade overturn but also as a rallying point for advocates of women’s autonomy and health. Participants voiced their deep concerns about recent legislative actions perceived as attempts to silence women’s voices.

“Women’s rights are human rights,” resonated through the gathered crowd, highlighting a collective urgency regarding the current judicial climate. Speakers condemned the actions of Trump, Vance and Musk. Calling for everyone to stand up for the Department of Education, Ukraine, Women’s Rights to decide what to do with their health and lives, Support Federal Workers and the VA.

“Judges are disregarding legal precedents,” one speaker warned, emphasizing the potential threat to women’s autonomy over their own bodies. The march aimed to reclaim rights and promote justice, fostering solidarity among attendees as they united against oppressive legislation and illegal tactics by DOGE.

In a call to action, attendees were encouraged to cultivate relationships within their communities to better navigate the challenges ahead. Organizers invited participants to engage in various forms of collective action—be it local protests, community meetings, block parties, or casual coffee meetups—with the goal of strengthening community ties and creating networks dedicated to resisting the erosion of freedoms.
