The Orange County Board of Supervisors, in collaboration with the County of Orange Social Services Agency (SSA) and CalOptima Health, will host its annual Children and Families Health Fair on Saturday, April 26, 2025. The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Magnolia High School, located at 2450 W. Ball Road, Anaheim, California.
Attendees will have the opportunity to receive health screenings and fresh food boxes, apply for food assistance, health insurance, and cash benefits, and learn about various services and resources available to them from participating partners.
“Our annual event aims to raise awareness about the benefits available to our residents while engaging them in activities that support a healthier lifestyle,” said Doug Chaffee, Chair of the Orange County Board of Supervisors. “We are committed to ensuring comprehensive, accessible, and equitable healthcare services for everyone in our community.”
The SSA will deploy its Mobile Response Vehicle, equipped to issue same-day Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) cards, alongside a team of eligibility professionals ready to assist attendees with public assistance applications and inquiries about current benefits. In-language services will also be provided.
“Our staff is prepared to help residents navigate the programs that can alleviate economic challenges,” said SSA Director An Tran. “We appreciate Chair Chaffee’s ongoing support for events that reduce barriers for those in need in Orange County.”
More than 135,000 CalOptima Health members reside in Anaheim, and the organization is sponsoring the event to ensure members can maximize their health coverage. “I encourage all our members to stay up to date on their preventive screenings and well-care visits,” said Michael Hunn, CEO of CalOptima Health. “When our members are healthy, Orange County benefits as a whole.”
Participating organizations will include the Anaheim Union High School District, Community Action Partnership of Orange County (CAP-OC), and United Across Borders. The event will also feature local folklorico performances, a mobile unit from the Orange County Clerk-Recorder Hugh Nguyen’s office providing vital records, and a cooking demonstration by Celebrity Chef Tue Nguyen.
