More Music
Day of Music is coming up on June 21 and we will have breaking news right after this message from our sponsors. Until then, you can see live music downtown at The Twisted Vine, as they host Live Music on Saturdays from 3 to 5 pm. Confused, concerned, nothing to do on a Saturday afternoon? No longer, drop by next Saturday and see why this is such a great way to resolve that conundrum. Don’t forget The Night Owl, Pour Company, Roscoes, The Olde Ship, Bourbon Street, Thursdays at the Museum Plaza, High Horse Saloon, and other places that should contact us if they want you to know about it. You can even run an ad, imagine. As for those promised D.O.M. sponsor messages, go to http://www.dayofmusicfullerton.com to become a sponsor yourself and join the good guys. And now, back to the printed version of your newspaper.
Also, back to the Day of Music, and you know by now what a great day of music this will be. Your D.R. writer was on the Board of Directors for many years and it was always the same silly question: “Why isn’t the Day of Music on a Saturday?” Answer: “Because it is a celebration of the first day of Summer and we can’t change that.” This year, it finally IS on a Saturday, for the first time (thanks leap year) but don’t ask if it can be moved to Sunday. We will try that next year.

Phyllis Fender, Queen of Day of Music
This is Fullerton’s 10th annual celebration of all things music, and it’s FREE all over town and going on at 40 venues, likely more by the time Summer arrives. Of course, you want to begin your day at the Museum Plaza where you can meet up with friends and decide which other venues suit you.
You never know who may show up. Rest in peace, Phyllis; we all miss you.
Make your way over to The Fox Fullerton Theatre, The Big Bowl at Hillcrest Park, then off to a restaurant, an outdoor patio, maybe even a hair salon, parking lot, or someone’s porch. Whichever it is, wherever it is, set aside the entire day and join in. Most of us don’t even have to take the day off work this time, and this notice is way in advance, so you won’t have to miss it.

Anniversary
As our faithful readers were reminded in our last issue, we always celebrate anniversaries here, and now it’s Bootlegger’s turn. 17 years. Can that be true? We must have just turned 21 when they opened…. or thereabouts. Here is a new photo from April 19, plus a little look back, with a photo from the early days, and the orange crate label for their Valencia Orange Day of Music beer.
Photo Quiz
There are quite a few faithful readers who tell us they still like to read the printed version of this newspaper. Be a pal and let us know your thoughts; you will find the email address in the photo question below.

Photo Quiz: Our stories have taken up all the room and more lately; therefore, no photo question again last issue, but if you do indeed care, do not despair. Most of you have seen this on the outskirts of our downtown, so this time, let’s try a caption game. Some may even know what the heck is going on here, but we sure do not.
Send your caption idea to allmedia@sbcglobal.net, and we will print the worst in our next issue. We can bearly wait, expecting a lot of puns, some even less original than what you just read. Maybe.
