I enjoy reading the Observer when I visit my mother-in-law at Fullerton’s Morningside Retirement Community, located at the intersection of Brea and Bastanchury. An extraordinary event occurred last week: a mother Canada Goose had been sitting on her eggs for a few weeks next to the dining room, while her partner watched over them from across the small lake. Last week, all six eggs hatched, and residents have enjoyed watching the family’s excursions across the lake.

The remarkable moment happened on Saturday when the entire family—two adults and six chicks—walked in a line formation to Park Vista Skilled Nursing on Brea. They even crossed Brea Boulevard, all eight of them still in line! Drivers stopped to let them pass, and one of them even helped the chicks up the curb. The family continued on to the lake at Coyote Hills Golf Course on the other side of Brea.
